Funny, my wife and I were talking about cake just last night. Then the phone rang. (We still have a landline. Strange but true.)
"Don't pick up," I said, because of what happened last time and all the times before that. But she did. "It's for you," she said, for once avoiding the snapping claws. "Something about a poll."
"Which poll?" I asked. There have been so many.
"The one on the CTC forum."
"You mean the Cycling UK Forum."
"Then why do you always call it the CTC forum?"
I was about to answer when the lobster pinched my ear. "I'm hungry!" it hissed.
"For what?" I asked, grabbing a tea towel to stanch the bleeding.
"Fish will do nicely."
"We have no fish in the house."
He pinched my other ear. We really do need to replace this phone.
"Fish!" he fairly shouted. What could I do? I hopped on my bike and got him fish. Had to chase it down first.
"Did you get the cake?" my wife asked upon my return, after the phone had been fed.
