Security tip

Post by gav »

The other evening whilst listening to past broadcasts of ‘BikeTalk’ on KDRT in Davis, California I heard an interesting security tip.
Get two small cards and on them write “Bike stolen from ‘Your name and phone number’”. Then laminate or wrap the cards in clear tape and store one card within each tyre. The idea is that if your bike is stolen and sold on and then later gets a puncture the new ‘owner’ or a bike shop will find the cards. You could also offer a reward to increase the odds on them contacting you.
I was wondering if anybody has tried this or heard of any success with this plan.
