Gas Canisters in The Netherlands

Does anyone know if I can buy the screw on gas canisters for my Soto Windmaster stove, in or near Schiphol airport. I’m heading over in July to do the LF Zuiderzeeroute and would ideally like to pick one up on the first day.

I'd be very surprised if you couldn't get something quite soon, assuming the stove takes the same threads as e.g. Coleman, Primus, MSR. You're right next door to Amsterdam and just need to look for an outdoor store (Bever is one example I know from shopping in Den Haag that has Amsterdam stores, there will be plenty of others).

Pete.

Try Bever stores. Bound to be at least one in Amsterdam (they are everywhere) and I'm sure I've gos screw gas canisters from them in the past. Bever are a chain of outdoor gear High Street stores (bit like Cotswold or Decathlon). They sell quality stuff.

Thanks folks, there is a Bever not too far off my route through Amsterdam. There is even a photo on Google showing a shelf full of the canisters I need :)

Decathlon tends to sell the screw fitting canisters (in France). I have managed to get some in Sport 2000 but only once so I've no idea on who widespread that is. Better to take an adapter for the bayonet fitting e.g. https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B004124BUI (but unavailable on amazon so search elsewhere)

In Germany my experience is I could only get butane aerosol canister format gas - good job I carry an adapter for such canisters. Trouble is everywhere sold them in 4 packs and I was not going to lug 4 canisters around so left 3 at camp site for any other cyclists wanting them.

I recommend buying the converter suggested by Ian. This should open up additional options for finding gas outside of major towns/cities as Campinggas is stocked more widely than the screw-on canisters which can often only be found in outdoor stores.

The CV300 canisters should be easy to find in Mr Bricolage (France) and OBI Baumarkt (Germany). These are the equivalent of B&Q and are dotted throughout the countries. In France, larger supermarkets will also sell CV300s, I don't recall this being the case in Germany though.

Another benefit of the converter is you can use the Campinggas store locator to find your nearest stockist: https://www.campingaz.com/gasfinder/?locale=en-US. IME some places selling CV300s also sell screw on cartridges, which I'll choose in preference if available.

In France I found cansiters with Camping Gas CV (needing the adaptor) in most supermarkets.
