Suspension Seat Post and Stem

Post by mnichols »

I'm looking at buying a Suspension Seat Post and Stem for my Gravel Bike as an alternative to buying a Hardtail MTB

For the seat post there seems to be a huge price range - anything from £20 to £300

The Redshift Shockstop Suspension Seat Post and Stem have been recommended, and these will set me back and £400. Obviously much cheaper alternatives are available so are these worth the premium?

The Suntour SR SP12 suspension seat post is only £64 and highly reviewed on Amazon, compared with £240 for the Redshift

Does anyone have any experience of either, or using this method of providing suspension to a bike?

I'm also going to switch to tubeless and run at lower tyre pressures

I'm planning to do South Downs Way, Ridgeway and King Alfred's Trail
