Brussels to Amsterdam

Post by iamme »

Anyone have the details of the old LF2 route from Brussels to Amsterdam? It has been discontinued and official policy is to ask you to make your own route using the fietspunten. I would much rather take a well planned route that was done with the various tourist attractions in mind. Unfortunately, there are no traces online although I have heard that most of the markings are still up. Can anyone who has done it help me?

I think I may have it on my 2014 printed maps, just a moment.

Yeah, I do, LF 2 - it’s on my basis kart network fiets routes. Although looks like the detail is only from Antwerp. How best to share? Photo or old school and photocopy? In summary it is Antwerp, Roosendaal, Dordrecht, Rotterdam presumably only grazing the eastern end of the wider Rotterdam), Gouda, Amsterdam.
Ok, I have 3 of the segment north of Antwerp- there should be 5. Need to finish a report before I see where the other chunk of Dutch map sections are- will come back to you.

I’d suggest trying the second hand market for an out of date cycle map of the Netherlands- they did do a great ring binder one with waterproof sheets if you want the hard copy.

I traced it to https://cycle.travel/by/mjray/2022_arch ... _amsterdam

So I guess the modern equivalent would be to Exit Brussels southeast then junctions northbound are 32-43-42-41-40-26-27-59-3-13-74-10-33-12-93-31-28-97-20-77-58-Mechelen centrum-97-95-94-79-52-38-29-90-34-30-85-70-84-32-33-43-42-Riverside-41-59-57-56-30-16-20-32-35-11-39-38-73-27-72-75-25-80-89-24-81-27-28-02-29-94-99-05-03-02-01-70-81-31-33-35-41-07-37-38-39-12-41-42-75-46-47-48-49-12-88-89-98-99-10-40-09-43-18-19-02-03-50-21-63-66-75-67-74-21-68-20-60-75-76-78-84-29-88-89-26-09-94-11-28-06-07-14-52-51-03-02-26-27-36-05-06-09-85-04-84-20-50-99-97-36-35-11-30-27-31-28-39-01-62-61-50-56-05

This site has details of the tourist sites on the LF2 route. I think if you sign-up you can also download a gpx track:

Many thanks. I think I will just try and follow this. I am in Brussels now and will have a look at the secondhand bookshops tomorrow for some old guides, just in case.
