It's cheaper in Euros and Dollars thanks to the Brexit-related catastrophe that is Pound Sterling these days.

It maybe the future but it all starts to get very expensive for something that doesn't make you go any faster.
A new 105 Di2 front mech is around £150 before fitting.
On a LEJOG last year my front mech failed. It was unrepairable metal fatigue and I had to change gear using a stick. Later the same day we came across a LBS and got the 105 front mech replaced and gears reset for £35 + £15 for fitting.

The LBS said "good job its wasn't Di2 as we don't have any spares for that". It was in 2021 so maybe things are different now.
