Hello all,
I'm sorry I don't have more time to
write to you but I did notice something which made my ears prick up.
I have a terrible habit of telling lies about my cycling actiivties. I always think of them as white lies to protect me from the devil. I had a similar experience once to the "segregated cycle paths" correspondent, who seems to have been upset ..... by telling the truth!
I will not be upset by louts.... while going about my business...... policemen, pro/stitutes or lager louts! If asked I LIE!
I see the word "pro*stitute " is a banned word on this site. The latin derivation literally is "prae"...before; "stituere"... to stand.......
To stand before!
Well plenty of people stand before me on a sunday morning...!!
(Actually I stand before them as well!)......
When the cause is an unworthy one... the meaning becomes more sinister, as with the cyclist whose way was impeded by......
NEVER tell the truth to the Devil!!

You've got the spelling wrong as usual
It is spelt "Altar" for the vicar; meaning change
in either spelling of course, changing personality in the one and changing somebody's way of christian life in the other. Perhaps a crazy christian/religious would go to the Altar for an alter ego! Hm! I wonder whether the vicar will let me have another Alter ego this week?!!
Now that does take thinking about, unlike dramatis personae... which would be a more polite way of describing a changing cast of characters!!!

I might buy a Raleigh Aveo,then threaten to ride it in preference to my other bikes if they misbehave!
