Re: Fuel prices

Back on topic, we’ve seen fuel prices a fair bit cheaper in rural garages whilst holidaying in South Wales & Forest of Dean these last 2 weeks. Eg Lydney 179.9 for diesel. This beats the supermarkets.

I’m assuming that they are applying both the rural fuel duty relief & the temporary countrywide cut. Is it a case of the urban garages & supermarkets holding back on proportional duty cuts?

I just try to provide a bit of balance. If you read and believe everything printed in the (free) Guardian, the teechers paper, you would end up slitting your wrists. You can tell the teechers who constantly try and lecture everybody else. Some of us arent rotting we live in the hope that efforts are being made to make things better.
The pandemic has made things very difficult for folk across the world, many of them much worse off than us. A once in a lifetime event. The energy crisis is only matched by the huge oil price hike in the 70s. Both at once together with a bungled Brexit exacerbated by a smarting and spiteful EU has made things difficult. Socialism got a very bad reputation in the 1970s, its a long haul back from that. I believe we will probably suffer political paralysis after the next election with a hung parliament, not a proposition to look forward to.

I am flattered that so many find my posts something to comment on.

Always someone else's fault.

Yes, me and the majority of those who bothered to vote.

Sorry about the gravy train cancellation...

Yup.

You should all be ashamed of being taken in by the obvious lies. I would be.

Better still, you could start questioning the views of those liars on every other topic.

The UK wasn't alone in having a pandemic not suffering from the war. Food prices have always been higher in France and like the UK they are rising.
Seeing a doctor, driving on pot hole free roads and electricity held at a 4% rise is the norm here.
Brexit or rather the referendum was badly handled. It should have required more than the small number that swung it.
As you are clearly anti EU why are you surprised they are not falling over themselves to give us what we want.
Surely you didn't believe the lie that the EU would?

I thought better of our neighbours. I am glad we arent being as petty as them. Piping gas through to the Germans to counter Putins actions. At the moment we are sending electricity to France because half of their nukes are out of action because of cracked pipes.

I'll take your word for that, so why isn't our electricity costs matching the UK at least partially?
Could it be something to do with a proper government working for the people.🤔

Oh,pleeze!
So there's this club, and a member leaves coz they don't like it,but then the leaver still wants some of the club's benefits without paying the fees to remain a member,so much so that said leaver reneges on the leaving deal it made and signed with the club and wants it rewriting in it's favour.
Then the leaver wonders why the club is being dificult :?

Who's fault is that ridiculous and impossible situation for the club?
PS,I admire your optimism but believe it's misplaced,I could be wrong but upto present the UK is going down like a lead balloon!
YVMV mine won't,sadly!

R2,not a bully or a loud mouth, just a forum member putting forward the contrary argument.

It is your responsibility Al.

Accept your mistakes and stop trying to blame others.

It's commonly known as "growing up".

Yes Teecher!

Hows the dictatorship treating you? Did you consult those Chinese Students about what a dictatorship really feels like, you seemed to go silent on that subject?

Al,

Despite you repeatedly telling me I live abroad then that I teach Chinese students, I have never done either of these things.

Why you keep doing this is genuinely a complete mystery to me.

It's very, very odd indeed.
