Stainless Steel framesets off-the-shelf / Ti frame repairs.

Post by Salade_Lyonnaise »

Hello all,

Been away from the forum for a while, now back on track and still in need of a new bike!

Does anyone know of any off-the-shelf Stainless framesets available? In an ideal world I would be looking for a Spa Wayfarer in SS, but I guess that's a longshot – one need though is wide tyre clearance, so no racing frames.

On a side note, does anyone know any Ti frame builders who can repair/change a downtube? Got an ebay dud didn't I! I've emailed enigma in Brighton twice, but no repsonse.

Thanks all! :D

When asking about titanium repairs I got replies from Enigma and Vernon Barker Cycles:

I didn’t find anywhere else but I am sure there are others. That was a while ago - good prompt to try and get my own Ti frame sent off and repaired after three years riding on Trigger’s broom.

Haha Trigger's broom.

Thanks I forgot about Vernon Cycles - saw a mention of a messy repair. But I guess a whole tube replacement should be neat. Thanks for that.

If anyone knows of any Stainless framesets please let me know!
