Sunak 6/5 on
Johnson Evens
Mordaunt 9/1
I don't know where you get your statistics from (who does!) But Sunak is on 5/6, which is better than Johnson's evens. Please be accurate in future.
5/6 is the same as 6/5 on.
And of course that's why they're listed in that order.

Well, this time yesterday I'd have said it was impossible, but now evens.
Gilt market already spiking in anticipation of the great unflushable's Court of chaos returning.
There genuinely seems to be no depths to which the Tory party will not stoop.
General Election now.

Run Rishi Run trips lightly off the tongue.
Don't let them give Tufton St. a bung.
If they do you'll be deeper in the stew
So run Rishi run Rishi run run run run run!
Of course, if he doesn't give them a bung he'll be nobbled this side of Christmas.

Are those odds based on bets placed by the wider public or from polls of the very few who actually get a vote? (the 170,000 vs the 46,500,000 UK electorate)

The betting odds that I have quoted are those offered by William Hill:
https://sports.williamhill.com/betting/en-gb/politics
I find the the most convenient site for comparing offers and watching trends is OddsChecker:

Clearly you're not a betting man. Youre completely wrong. They are entirely different. 6/5 means that for 11 possible outcomes, there will be 5 times your selection should win and 6 times it doesn't
5/6 means that for every 11 possible outcomes there will be 6 times your selection should win and 5 times it doesn't.
So in betting terms, Sunak is now the favourite. At 6/5, he wouldn't be!
That's the difference between winning money, and losing it. Back to school Jdsk

Bottom line is that the odds are based on personal views of those who have no vote on the issue (or at least the vast majority have no vote on the issue).

It's already being discussed in other threads.
This is a cycling forum where off-topic political discussions are allowed as long as they don't swamp the forum or require loads on moderator time. One thread discussing it should be enough to cover the issue as multiple threads on the same thing just confuse ...
Ian
Threads man, you can never have enough threads
Go Sunak!
Not a widely held view. It just restarts "Should political threads be banned ..." and with multiple political threads on the same subject those arguing for a ban do have a valid point.
Ian
I think given the seriousness of the vote and how it might impact the UK completely justifies a separate thread for each Tory combatant.

Of course Sunak is the favourite in my posts. 6/5 on is shorter than Evens.
I think that you might have missed the
on in 6/5
on.

There are political forums for such detauiled discussion.
Maybe also needed are a number of threads for comparative discussions e.g. Sunak vs Johnson. Plus a load more in case two come to private agreements e.g. as Johnson is said to be extending invitations to Sunak. Maybe we need a new entire forum section?
Brexit had big impact but after multiple threads angered many we survived with a single thread, long standing posters left the forum, etc..

I'm a betting man of some 45 years, 6/5 whichever way you say it is worse that 5/6. I can point you to 20 betting odds calculators if you really want to go toe to toe. I can even give you your beloved hyperlinks
You have made a fool of yourself. Let's say nothing more about it, and move on!
You try going down to your local bookies and argue the toss with them!

Please could you answer the point about the use of
on to describe short odds.
Thanks
