Replacement hoods for discontinued shifters

I have 9 speed tiagra shifters, and the hoods have gone really sticky. Cleaning and talc is not helping, so I’d like to replace them. Problem is they are discontinued and I can’t get the parts. From another forum it sounds like the 4600 hoods should fit, but SJS cycles say they definitely don’t. Has anyone had experience or can point me in a direction to get replacements.
