I was under the impression you're taking a car with a 10kg tent -- towing a trailer with 30kg of kit on it

didn't know we had Superman in the forum....
...You wouldn't get a bike and trailer on a train in NI -- I can put my loaded bike onto the train to get to the ferry port.
You missed the gist of it.
It's a folding bike and trailer, when the bike isn't being ridden it's in the trailer, the wheels come off and it's a piece of luggage, it can go on any train (Inc Eurostar) or coach.
I'm not taking the trailer for the camping kit, I don't particularly want to do a moving on tour with it, but neither is there anything superhuman about 30kg in a suitable vehicle.
Had to Google Airnimal folder with trailer to understand sorry.
Still a bit confused -- whether there's a car involved or not -- or whether your lifting and carrying -- or whether you're towing by bike or -- does the tent fit in the case/trailer with your clothes etc
Sorry not familiar with this but seems a great bit of kit.

No car involved, I don't have one, which is why I can afford this kit!
I'll take some photos and start a thread next time I use it, in the meantime, this is the concept, though this is with a Brompton, the Airnimal takes a bit more effort and dismantling to get in the bag. (Warning the sound quality is awful)

Ah I get it now -- would you get a 10kg tent on the trailer -- I have a 6 man vango tent you can stand up in but it's a beast probably because it's fibreglass poles etc -- I'd say you'd still get the trailer into the omega 350 easy enough.

If you want something high enough to be able to stand up in and enough room in the porch to bring your bikes in, should you wish to, the Wild Country Etesian 4 fits the bill at 6kg and 180cm high. I have one and have found it useful for family / car camping. Sadly now discontinued but possibly available 2nd hand?

Thanks all.
Vango Galaxy 300 and footprint ordered, via Go Outdoors so I can pick it up locally and return if there's any problems. Plus they had a 15% discount this weekend so it was the best price available, it seems a lot of tent for the money (£225). I'll try and get some use from it this year if the weather holds, and report back.

Thanks, that would have been a contender, but it seems to have been discontinued.

I'd say that's a good choice.

That's a very good price. Looking forward to hearing your comments after you've had a chance to use it. The Galaxy 300 is on my shortlist for a replacement base camp tent for car camping.
