I am starting to prepare for my August Bank Holiday weekend in Brittany and having returned from a very wet camping holiday in Cornwall I wondered if anyone can suggest bike friendly accommodation in the St Malo area in case I experience similar weather and decide to abandon the camping!!
Nothing like being optimistic!!
Thanks in advance

We just finished Bilbao to St Malo and unfortunately, last night in St Malo, they were practically stripped back to the frames so do be careful. Anything out of the lock was gone including my fork. Hotel owner very helpful and drove us to police and port etc but not so helpful to allow us to store the bikes inside the hotel and told us it was a safe area and they would be fine. Pity to end 1000km tour this way but be warned.
theft in St Malo
Whereabouts was it? Sillon? St Servan? Intra Muros? We'd all like to know where to avoid leaving our bikes. I'm very sorry you had that problem. I lived near St Malo for years and can reassure you - though I realise it's not much comfort - that Bretons are the most honest people I've ever encountered. But it is the holiday season and of course there will be a lot of transient types there during the summer. Commiserations again.
