Sadly more bad news to report for Christina. She has suffered a stroke and taking a break from cycling.

Re: Christina Mackenzie's crash
Terrible news but maybe if she has the PFO fixed she can get back to cycling eventually -- a bitter blow all the same.

Re: Christina Mackenzie's crash
I think Christina is back to competing -- copied link -- maybe someone with Facebook can download stuff on here. If that's correct it's fantastic news.

Great stuff -- shows these things can be overcome. Wonder if that stroke was caused by the terrible injuries?

What is a Patent Foramen Ovale (PFO)?
Normal development:
Before birth, the foramen ovale is a flap-like opening between the heart's upper chambers that allows blood to bypass the lungs.
After birth:
In most people, this opening closes shortly after birth.
Persistent PFO:
In about 25% of people, the foramen ovale remains partially or fully open.
Risk:
In some cases, a blood clot from the veins can pass through the PFO and travel to the brain, causing a stroke or transient ischemic attack (TIA).
Who is eligible for the procedure?
The procedure is for adults who have experienced a stroke or TIA, especially in younger adults, and for whom the PFO is considered a potential cause.
It may not be necessary if a clear cause for the stroke, such as atherosclerosis, is found.
it looks like it was caused by a Patent Foramen Ovale (PFO).

Is there actually a discernible driver in that photo of the truck and trailer?
