When I read his claim about it being recorded in the very very very overdue register of ministerial interests I thought he'd probably get away with it even though I assume that publishing that register is also his responsibility (or he delegates or appoints). Were that the case it just highlights yet another shortcoming in our governance (when there are significant delays in establishing vested interests).

But, as you point out, that none of his wife's interests are listed even in the old register means nobody stands any chance of finding his vested interests which makes me think he'll probably be "apologising".

Something has just been published, but I'm lost on the overlaps (and possible gaps) between the declarations of his interests as an MP, of his past interests as a Minister, and of his current interests as a Minister.

On those gaps:

5. The Ministerial Code requires that a statement covering relevant interests be published twice yearly. This statement takes the form of a list of Ministers’ interests. A role of the Independent Adviser is to advise on what it is necessary to publish within the list. The list is not a register of interests and does not therefore include every interest that a minister has declared in relation to themselves and their family members. To do so would represent an excessive degree of intrusion into the private affairs of ministers that would be unreasonable, particularly in respect of their family members. The list instead documents those interests, including of close family, which are, or may be perceived to be, directly relevant to a minister’s ministerial responsibilities. The list also provides details of charities and non-public organisations where a minister is a trustee or patron. Further information on the types of interest covered in the list is provided in the next section (page 4).

I thought it started back in Nov 2022! Still no conclusion - rather beggars belief. One must wonder why it's taking so long to just check-up on allegations from some employees who have volunteered their experiences ...

But Raab's lack of any apology, whining about how unfair it all was on him, trying to present himself as the victim - beggars belief and highlights how inappropriate his appointment was.

Did you expect anything else from this excuse for humanity?
His wriggling on the hook is to be expected from such as he,a man who didn't know the significance of the port of Dover when he was Brexit secretary, who lied about the backlog of cases when he was justice sec,who wittnessed Johnson and Sunak receive fines for breaking lockdown laws when he was deputy PM under Johnson and who cause civil servants working under him to contemplate suicide such was his bullying.Dominic Raab's career as a minister and politician should've ended years ago!

This episode is yet another, one of many, clear illustration as to the depths democracy has fell in the UK today,Dominic Raab is the epitome of UK government in 2023 and why so many people have no time for politics or politicians.
These people and their party are a disgrace who have caused my country to become a worldwide laughingstock, these people disgust me!

Lord Kerslake, former head of the civil service, criticised Dominic Raab’s claims of being targeted by “activist civil servants” as “absurd” and “inaccurate”.

In an interview with BBC Radio 4’s PM programme, Lord Kerslake said: “I think it’s absurd, I think it’s completely inaccurate, and I think it’s just one more line of attack to avoid taking responsibility for his actions.”

Lord Kerslake also found Raab’s resignation letter to be “pretty graceless” and “in some instances malevolent”.

“He seems to lash out at everybody but doesn’t accept personal responsibility for any of his own behaviour and I think the issue here he’s trying to turn it into, some kind of constitutional question of good government, simply doesn’t stand up,” he said.

“Every civil servant would accept that ministers have a right to directly oversee negotiations or even to critique advice. What isn’t acceptable is the way he did it,” Lord Kerslake continued, adding the Tolley report is “pretty damning.”

“I don’t know how much clearer [the report] could be about this being about Dominic Raab’s behaviour and not constitutional government,” he said

One aspect I find quite distasteful and maybe one that highlights Raab's "shortcomings" (as well as all those MPs leaping to his defence) is that he is attacking people (Civil Service) who are not allowed to defend themselves. So he appears on TV makes allegations including about identifiable individuals yet those individuals are not allowed to do an interview to refute the allegations. e.g. the Civil Servant who Raab identifies as the individual undertaking negotiations with Spanish over Gibraltar.
