Becuas ethey don't like all the "foreigners". Ironic really because, outside Norfolk, Boston is probably the English town most in need of new blood to widen the gene pool.
A letter in the local paper complained that the writer had walked across the market place and heard not a word of English, but only nasty foreign tongues.
Can remember an article about Boston by Peter Hitchens. He said that in a mile walk between the station an dhis B&B he didn't hear anyone speaking English. The Lincolnshire dialect might well seem like a foreign language to a southern ponce like Hitchens.

Starmer's Labour in same sentence as Marxist is 1 of the most ludicrous things I have ever read!
Neither are even close to socialist.
Marxism is the means of production under ownership of the state. A Marxist government wouldn't e.g. raise IH on farms, it would simply take ALL land into state hands, no nonsense about compensation. Ditto e.g. Banks.
A rung down, no socialist government would allow Royal Mail into private ownership, from overseas or not.
Do you have any knowledge of political philosophies? Probably think Anarchy a synonym for chaos.
The only opportunity for vague socialism in UK was 1945 and just possibly the Wilson government - he spoke e.g. of abolishing public (private!) schools but bottled it.

Corbyn isn't Marxist, even the Marxists don't think so.

Your beloved Maggie was a supporter of Pinochet, probably the most deserving of the Fascist title since WW2.

Please stop the silly "Marxist" insults. Address the policies you disagree with.

You seem to agree with current govt on housing, and, indeed, immigration: more of and less of respectively!

You would enjoy US “discussion” of politics, because that very widely involves characterising anything that involves any taxation and redistribution whatsoever, and in some cases even simply taxation to fund items for common use, as “communism”. Even the most milk and water sorts of social democracy get tarred as “communism”, by which they actually mean “Stalinism”.

Yes, I think anyone whose every post called people who disagreed with them Fascist, that would be a Bad Thing.

Indeed, if you care to search my prior posts you'll find me making that point.

So, are you going to stop calling people Marxists and comment on the housing and immigration policies of the current government that you seem to wholeheartedly agree with?

As far as the present government is concerned nothing seems to happening yet on either front. In addition everything seems to be going wrong for them. Disaster anti growth budget, illegal immigration up, broken promises, embellished CV, Chagos giveaway, Lammy  !!! ....nil growth, inflation up, imminent Brexit reversal, WFA cancelled..woe woe... And now - Musk intervention, Trump!

Given that deflection list, i do believe, Al that you're not actually interested in a discussion.

But thank you for not insulting anyone this time. Please do continue in that vein.

Nothing to discuss when everything is a fact is there? I have seen no evidence of any sort of progress. The Beeb is joining in refusing to play the UKs number one in most charts. Obvious where their sympathies lie :o

Leftists similarly criticised the BBC over refusing to play 'Liar, Liar' by Captain Ska in 2017 (a song criticising Teresa May).

Yet again, left-wing and right-wing criticisms of the BBC appear to cancel each other out.

England (where most people live) is the second most densely-populated country in Europe. Narrowly behind the Netherlands.
This is not true. Not even close. It's about eighth, depending on how you handle small islands. But talking about England instead of the UK seems like moving the goalposts a bit.
To describe it as "low" is disingenuous at best.
Its population has increased by over 8.5 million since 2001.
Reason enough to raise justifiable concerns I would say.
Ah, now it's not overcrowding but the rate of change that's the problem, is it? The goalposts have definitely moved now, over the hill and far away.

It's not possible to placate people who say they dislike one thing, then when it's pointed out they're wrong in fact, they change their objection. Grumblers gonna grumble.
