Is there a Dentist in the House?

I've got two wisdom teeth coming into my lower jaw, in a space which has been vacant for 25 years!
It's quite painful, as there erupt, but I remember a dentist telling me long ago that the teeth above would grow down as there was nothing in the space to restrict them. And if any teeth came up from below, I could have problems. True or false?

There'll be a reason for the pain. If you're well over 25 years old the most common causes are infection, impaction, cyst formation, and gum disease.

Because of the pain and the possibility of any infection extending and causing further damage I'd want to see a dentist as soon as possible. The examination is quite likely to include X-rays.

Don't delay. Get it checked asap. Mrs Rjb had toothache during th first lockdown, referred for further investigation and it turned out to be a tumour and oral cancer. 2 years down the line, 2 major ops, radio and chemo therapy and she's just back on the bike.
We may have lost a couple of years but we both aged a decade. :(

In my case true, except I has my lower ones removed in my late teens and my upper removed about 12 years later. My upper wisdom teeth continued to grow and as they were not biting on a lower tooth were pretty sharp. Eventually they started biting into my lower gum causing damage leading to infections.
