Saddle fore and aft adjustment

I don't know if saddle rails are all the same length?
My problem is I have reached the end of the adjustment in getting my saddle further forward. Is there such a thing as a seat post that offers more forward adjustment?
The 'layback' seat post is the opposite of what I need.
All suggestions are welcome.

They do exist, something such as the Nitto S66
https://www.hubjub.co.uk/nitto-s66-tria ... 3632-p.asp
Unlikely to be correct for the application but an example of a forward facing post
I'm sure it's been discussed in the past but I couldn't find a thread.

If you google 'reversible seat post' and/or 'reversible seat post triathlon', you will find a few products. They are pretty niche and tend to be quite expensive.
Obviously if you need a less common seat post diameter, you will struggle to find a suitable post unless you can use a 27.2mm seat post with a shim.
Other options are:
- an old fashioned cyclindrical seat post with separate saddle clip. The clip can be rotated 180 degrees to put the saddle forward (as shown in 100 year old photographs of bikes with very shallow seat angles and leather saddles). Obviously heavier than a standard seat post if the post and clip are the traditional steel versions. The Brompton clip is a more modern/expensive version -

- Ergotec Futura has up to 10mm forward set back. Again heavy (~500g). Cheaper from the likes of Rose Bikes if you are in France -

- V K Saddle Adjuster. Discontinued according to SJS's website, but you might still be able to find one on sale, or maybe put a request in the Wanted board, since I think a few members have mentioned using them. Obviously only works with single bolt seat posts.

Unless you are already using one, an "in line" seatpost.....available at various price points.

Unfortunately, it can be a sign that you are on a frame too big for you.

Have you considered a shorter stem extension?
Is it the overall length that's the problem or your wish to have yourself in a certain position over the
chainwheel. ?
Plus what Valbrona said .

The critical relationship is between sit-bone points, knee and pedal spindle. Advice that I've found is that we should fix handlebar position having first got the saddle right. Try it - with a shorter stem extension you may get your saddle near to ideal position. And - Valbrona may be right. Best of luck!

I have this seat post
I bought it on this forum. Was accurately described as a layforward seat post, for some reason I thought I could adapt it to a layback design. I couldn't!
It's 27.0mm diam
Yours, or anyone else's, for £10.00

There used to be a couple of time trialists in my club who had simply rotated a regular laid back post to project forwards. They may have had to enlarge the slot that the clamp bolt passes through.

Thanks for the offer, diameter is right but I need a longer post.

The choice of 27.0mm seat posts is limited. I think you are more likely to find a 27.2mm seatpost that will fit your requirements, so I would suggest you consider/investigate the possibility of getting the seat tube reamed for a 27.2mm seatpost.
The Thomson Elite Layback seatpost *might* be suitable. There is a (16mm) layback version in the 27.2mm size (but not in the 27.0mm size) with 16mm of setback. Looking at the manufacturer's photographs it looks like the bottom of the cradle/clamp is symmetrical (can be reversed), and according to the instructions the top of the cradle/clamp can be reversed to allow more upward tilt (which is what you would need if you installed the seatpost with the layback forwardmost). Whether the greater upward tilt would be sufficient is not clear to me, although you might be able to determine it using trigononmetry and the various measurements supplied on the drawing. It is not a cheap seatpost, and it might be that the only way you would find out if it was suitable would be to actually buy one.

If an in-line seatpost isn't far enough forward, Profile do a "Fast Forward" seatpost.
Or if you like you can make me an offer for this awful thing......
viewtopic.php?t=143450
It will give a lot of setback and quite a lot of set-forward if memory serves......I think Google will come up with the numbers, instructions, etc.

Thanks for the offer but even with my low standards I don't think I could live with that.
