A phone in your pocket?

Post by ken66 »

It’s something that’s always been in the back of my mind although I still carry a phone in my pocket! Probably too late to worry about it now (age 72) but for kids starting out in life perhaps a more serious concern. In the early days of mobile phones my company supplied ‘screened cases’ although I can’t imagine that they were particularly effective, the phone still functioned for starters!

That video is intended to scare people into buying the products linked to later in that video. If you Google "is it safe to carry mobile phone in pocket" most of the links are to companies selling the same or similar products.

I've got a view: if you want the best current information on the risk of radiation from cellular 'phones and their networks then it's never been easier, quicker and cheaper to find.

As shown by multitool above.

My view is that if content arrives via social media then it's safe to completely ignore.

My view is that if you post a link, you should indicate the content. Otherwise it's just click bait.

I've not followed it, but if as others indicate it's disinformation and a scam about mobile phone radiation to sell junk, then you should delete it yourself before the mods do.

After many years of being involved with police radio systems (and the introduction of mobile phones into service) and prolonged investigation and discussions with the Police Federation, rest assured that IMHO it's all a load of *****

Personally I’m more worried about the impact of water fluoridation on my precious bodily fluids.

Social Media platforms can be a source of good, sound advice. They can also be a source of scaremongering misinformation.
This particular subject falls into the latter category.
The truth is out there but you have to whittle away at the garbage to find it.A bit like the internet in general.

And, conversely, if you don't ignore it your brainbox will be polluted with stuff that you can't easily rid yourself of. In the worst cases it will suborn your logic processor so that you become a fan of one or more mad conspiracy theories or even the notion that voting for a Tory is a good idea!

How did we manage before mobile phones and the "information superhighway" the evil things send us down, eh? Very well, as I recall. Personally I still go without a phone - although I have been captured by the immobile device I'm now typing into for no good reason. :-)

And after my involvement with Amateur Radio transmission at many multiples of the power of mobile phones on a very wide range of frequencies - I'd concur that the BImagellImagex coefficient of the original article is off the scale.

Its like smoking or radium. Its hard to pin point a cause.Probably not a cause for alarm just ask the kiddies to please keep mobiles in their bags to keep Mum and Dad happy. Why take a risk even if very low or possibly non existent. That way your a winner.

The making of tinfoil hats is not difficult. An even better option is a personal Faraday cage, possibly with built-in wheels. Perhaps someone will make one that'll fit over a bike and can also act as an aerodynamical rainproofer if a matching stretchy fabric thing is carried in the saddlebag?

No idea what this about but as I live in a notspot I've never bothered with a mobile. Should I be concerned?
