Homemade fruit jerkey

I've got a new tabletop multi function oven/ air fryer (Ninja Foodi). It has a dehydrate function. I've tried some dried apple, which was good, but I'd like to expend this to fruit jerkey (seems to be called fruit leather in the US). Great for transporting on the bike and I find fruit great for getting rid of the salt taste after swimming in the sea.

Anyone got any positive experiences of this?

I'm particularly interested in the temperatures you use and drying times.

can't help but my understanding is that in these high energy price times it's not really worth it,

Everyone I know with the Ninja/dehydrate uses it for cooking Beef joints very slowly.
Until today I had never heard of fruit jerky!

Worth taking the time to perfect. I can use my home grown apples and know nothing but fruit goes in it. I just need to perfect the method.

Meatjerky and Biltong might be a nicer option if it'll do it. Beef jerky is a bit pricey I think.

Jerky is meat specifically, says the OED, especially beef.

As you puree the fruit, you can make all sorts of combinations or add spices and it's a great way to use your own produce. It locks in all the goodness also. Have a google https://www.google.com/search?q=fruit+l ... =969&dpr=1

Great for taking to the beach after a swim in the sea or munching on the bike. It's great stuff.

I know I shouldn't be surprised, but I learn that "fruit leather dehydrators and matching trays" are actually a thing... !
