This is one of the "danger points" being suggested by groups perfoming psychometric testing for drivers

Difficulty in concentrating at lower speeds and proneness to fatugue / boredom are listed as some of the "risk factors" that has been identified as requiring remedial training

What sort of remedial training fixed boredom?

Motorways are boring at any speed. My eyes got just as tired when I did 90+ ("back in the day") as they do now within the speed limit. On a long motorway drive, the safest option is to take regular stops - cup of coffee or a nap usually does the trick.

That's tiredness - not boredom. Tired you stop and rest, I'm curious what sort of training would stop one being bored.

Are they not linked? - miles & miles of straight road with little change of scenery is boring, and in my book leads to eye fatigue due to little stimulation of the senses.

I could drive 200 miles on A & B roads, and not feel tired, but if I drive 200 miles on a motorway, I feel tired.

No training could stop you being 'bored' on a motorway.

But could teach you how to recognise it and deal with it?

There are 'take a rest' signs as you approach many service stations. Probably missed by the 90mph+ drivers!

They're easily visible at much higher speeds on autobahns.

I know when I'm bored - but I'd be interested in knowing what I could be taught that would allow me to stop it!

Nothing to stop it. But making drivers aware of the need to take a rest when driving on the motorway especially is a good idea.

That's fine when I'm driving - but what about when I'm at work?

Being bored at work is part and parcel of the capitalist system - no training can take it away - hence why commuting by bicycle is needed to make it a worthwhile exercise!
