We bought and tried a double tag along bike for our girls last year (aged 7 and 4). I really didn't like it and found it to be unstable and very hard work. I'm a big strong guy too, and can manhandle a bike as required.
We then bought a Weehoo tag along (just the single seat with pedals) which I've been using extensively for the last 7 months. It's great. Super stable and I use with both my girls for village taxiing. The lower centre of gravity is much better and there are no stability issues, even with my now 8 year old at 32kg.
Sit on tag along trailer for twins.
