Hosting cyclists

Post by fietslogies »

If you're not only keen on cycling the world but also like to host cyclists, you certainly know http://www.warmshowers.org
A site where generosity rules.

Cyclists who toured around in Belgium and the Netherlands might know http://www.vriendenopdefiets.nl
It works with the same principles but with more comfort (a real bed, a breakfast, (shared) bathroom facilities) and small prices. They list a few addresses in the UK and in the USA. If you want to join them (and it's strange, you don't have to be a member to host cyclists, and to get listed in their annual publication) to offer accomodation, you may fill in a form on their site. Do it before the 1st of september 2008. This autumn 'Vrienden op de Fiets' will contact you.

The form is in Dutch, but most words and fields speak for themselves.

Or anyone else knows of similar and local initiatives for hosting cyclists ?

The CTC has its own mutual hospitality directory - with reciprocal arrangements for Germany, the Netherlands, & other countries I think. Contact the CTC office for more information.
