Does anyone know what this bike is worth?

Hi Guys,

I've come across what I believe to be an Orbea Orca 2011 Road bike on facebook marketplace. Please let me know if I am wrong.

The description on the facebook post:

Orbea Orca
Sadly selling my road bike as there is no space to keep it in my new flat. Great bike-perfect for laps and going up hill.

The price is £750 and I want to offer £600. I think it's a good deal as the Di2 6770 kit is worth a decent bit alone . However, I've struggled to find an Orbea Orca model that is both 10 speed and has an Di2 Ultegra groupset, which makes me think it's been modified. Also the handlebars don't look like the original. Essentially I just want to make sure I am getting a good deal.

Looks genuine enough. That was a colour scheme of the 2011 Orca.

6770 groupset came out in 2011 so the timings of upgrading fit pretty well, looks like the seller upgraded the bars at the same time (hence referencing them in the description).

However...
6770 is a 10-speed groupset, the last Ultegra one that Shimano made before it went 11-speed in 2014 with the 6870 Di2. So the groupset on it is now 4 generations old - not sure what availability/compatibility is for that age Di2 but it's worth considering.

And those wheels are at odds with the rest of the decent spec - they're Mavic Aksiums which is an entry level wheelset. Even now you can get a pair for £200. They're not bad - just not what I'd put on a carbon frame, Ultegra groupset bike which makes me think the seller may have taken off the original wheels and replaced them with his winter training or commuting wheels.

Nice enough bike but not worth that money, especially considering the age of the groupset. At best, that'll have been put on in 2013/2014 so it's getting on for 10 years old - I'd hope that in that time it's had new cassette, chain, maybe chainrings on a few occasions but worth checking cos it'll be an expensive bill if not.
Personally I don't think it's worth anywhere near £750. Depending on the condition of the groupset and the wear level on the rims... Good condition, £600 max; bad condition, £450 or so.

Also that cable routing at the front end needs some tidying up!

10 speed Di2 derailleurs have been unobtainable new for years. If you needed a replacement you might be lucky enough to find a good one secondhand but not cheap. Also the electronics of 10 speed derailleurs are not compatible with 11sp (Shimano made sure of that!) so if, for example, you had to replace a damaged rear derailleur with a new 11 speed one you would also have to replace the front derailleur, the cassette with 11sp & the rear wheel if its not compatible with 11sp. Something to think about!

It is also worth considering that a bike with parts that are not original to the bike is not in any way inferior to the unmodified version. Every new bike I have ever had has had components swapped within weeks, always to improve things. A bike that is more than 10 years old should be expected to have extensive replacements if it has been used. I'd be looking at the bits that have not been replaced, to see if they are nearing the end of their service life. Wheel rims don't last forever on a bike with rim brakes. My own gut feeling is that £500 might be about the mark, bearing in mind that drivetrain replacements could be tricky.

Chainset says 11s on it.

Not sure why this matters, if it been ridden even semi regularly for 10 years, i'd be more concerned if the drivechain was original.
