Rubbish chain tools

Having lost my original chain tool I bought a cheapo one off the Bay and it's utter rubbish, at least when inserting pains. It had an easy enough time of breaking some sram 9spd but was useless on the shimano. Can anyone recommend a good and inexpensive make ?

Hi John, as that a CT3 or CT5 or what?
Do the mini Park Tools work as well as the more expensive ones?
Are you using 9spd chain?

I have the Park-Tool CT-5 and can recommend it, after having rubbish cheapo chain tools in the past. Infact one chain-tool pin snapped in half.
The CT-5 is money well spent and a piece of mind when on tour.

This is what I'm thinking. Although the cheapo tool did the trick (with a copious supply of curses) I really wouldn't want to rely on it too heavily. These 9sp rivets are the devil to shift.
Happy birthday, btw
