Identify Tektro brakes

Post by aflook »

Hello all
I need to get my daughter some new pads but she can’t identify the model. Hoping to take them up and fit them.
Anyone recognise these? They’re on a fairly basic Giant hybrid bought a few years ago.

Likely Auriga, but please post photos of the levers too. Also take the pads out and post a photo. They are most likely a fairly common pattern shared by many tektro and Shimano calipers.

Thanks gregoryoftours. I’ll get her to send photos of the levers but I don’t think she’s going to be able to get the pads out and put back in on her own - hence this post. Plan is to go up to true the wheel and replace the pads. Might have to chase around for a bike shop. (She’s in Rothwell).

I think tektro normally laser the part number on the caliper. You can check that without taking anything off. Assuming matching levers their serial number that would work too.

After that more info on the bike would help. Assuming it's still all OEM.

That sounds hopeful. Will get her to check.

Complicated by the fact that it was bought in Denmark so might have a slightly different spec.

Thanks jupester.
