Amsterdam hotel or guesthouse - recommendations?

I'm planning a London to Amsterdam ride for a small group of us (two of us so far, and I'm guessing 4-5 max). I'll be on the TRICE Q, and it's possible that we'll have another recumbent or two.

All the hotels I've stayed in on business trips were central and unlikely to be able to accommodate trikes, etc.

Can anyone recommend a place that has plenty of secure storage space for bikes, or has large rooms and happy to allow bikes to be taken into them? I'm guessing this is likely to be on the outskirts rather than right in the centre. We're coming from the Hook of Holland, so would be handy if it was on that side.

Also, has anyone done the Harwich to Hook of Holland ferry and know what they are like for bikes?

Ben

Or even any hotel booking type websites that cover the whole country. Something like the French Logis thing.
I'm looking at the moment and all I ever seem to find is chain hotels. Which although good enough, if costly, lack a certain charm.

I have stayed in a few hotels in the centre, mostly small family run 3 or 4 storey terraced houses, and all involved climbing up infeasibly steep staircases which would prove a challenge carrying a unicycle never mind a recumbent!

They did have small gardens at the back, so maybe you could wheel the bikes through - the advantages of the Netherlands is they are very helpful and do speak English. Best to phone and ask!
