Eric Hickman of Dudley Racing Bike Frame

I have just acquired this interesting 1950s looking frame badged as an Eric Hickman of Dudley and wondered if anyone has knowledge of the shop or knows of any other examples - hopefully I've managed to upload a couple of images here...
The head and seat tube transfers are like works of art but if any ever existed on the down tubes they have long disappeared and I would like to replicate them if possible. At some point in the not too distant future I will carry out a renovation job on the frame and build it back up for road use.
The frame was likely built elsewhere and supplied to the shop; certainly an obscure one.

Thanks,
Shaun

I have consulted a friend who was in the Cycle trade in Dudley in the "late 50's" .
He worked at a place called Criterion , a Cycle and toy shop in King St Dudley.
There's a few bits on Criterion Cycles on the web, just had a look.
(I was a customer when I was at school but it's long gone)
The proprietors surname was Ennis. ( You occasionally see an Ennis Frame, generally nicely done but pretty rare)
He is fairly confident that Mr Ennis purchased the business from Eric Hickman , late in the 1950's who supposedly moved to the Hereford Area with the intention of opening a Cycle shop somewhere in the area.
My friend did at one point own a Hickman himself, long gone and he can't recall where.
He did apparently write a piece for the Veteran Cycle Club Magazine some years ago about Hickman, with a request for Herefordians to supply informations out subsequent activity, but none was forthcoming.
You are lucky it has it's transfers intact, if it had been repainted you probably would not have been able to identify it. I don't think you will source replacement transfers.
