The bit between Carlands Cross and Three Burrows is being dualled. That section has always been a bottleneck ever since the A30 dual carriageway was created.
I realise that many End2End riders don't use the A30 - but some do.
Trouble is, that during the major roadworks that seen to have taken months, there are diversions in place and they can be on previously quiet-ish roads.
I've recently been advising a route to a chap on here (via email), and I've had to think again regarding my advice.
This was the route I suggested between Penzance and Tavistock.
Zooming on the route, I saw today that the bit through Goonhavern is part of the bypass ......... and therefore full of A30 traffic.

I'm going to spend a little while in re-doing it.
My reason for this post, is to warn others on here about the roadworks and resultant diversions.
Back later, with a new bit of advice.

Re: A30 Cornwall
How about this.
Yes, it goes through Truro city and the A390, but it's not that bad.
