Having followed this thread, I sent Maldon shot blasters and powder coaters my 20 year old Thorn ( plus racks ) and am very pleased with the results. ( Spanish Fly and Chrome Powder coat )

I had my Genesis Longitude powder coated, four years ago, here in Glasgow for £65. Quite happy with the work.

powder coating can be pretty good but IMHO the finish you get with wet paint can still be a lot better so I would try and use wet paint on a good lugged frame
