How about some light weight dura ace c24 wheels.

I found they are a level above mid range alloy wheelsets esp when climbing!

Rebuild bits, got or on order... have I missed anything?

Chain rings
Cassette
Bottom bracket
Chain
Jockey wheels
Cables (gears and brakes)
Bar tape
Frame barrel adjusters

The front and rear mechs are in good order so no need to do anything with them other than a good clean.

I need to work out which Cane Creek headset bearings I need (Cane Creek 40 1-1/8")

I ordered a wheelset (Kinlin XR-26T/RT, Sapim CX-Ray spokes, Bitex hubs, GP5000 tyres) from Spa Cycles, they seem a decent spec for the price and should definitely be an improvement on what I'm currently riding.

As I say have I missed anything?

Job done, thanks for the words of wisdom! :-)

All the bits

Completed bike.

It took me a full day but there is nothing too difficult when you have the right tools. It isn't looking much different but feels so much better and 3lb lighter to boot. The first proper ride tomorrow.

Looking good - but is the right hand shifter a bit lower then the left?
The older I get the more I’m inclined to act my shoe size, not my age.
