Just before that point and just after it shows shared with bus and taxi. A little further on it crosses over to the cycle route shown on the map. It also warns of cycles crossing.

That’s not what I’ve said. I was giving you my interpretation of the signage and tying it in with the city bike guide map I posted. AFAICS your problem is on a pavement not a cycle route.
I’ve lost count of the number of times I couldn’t get a 4 decker artic into a farm because the lanes were too small. We had to find a way around the problem.

Thanks anyway, next time out that way I'll give it a go hoping the cycle path will be open with all the on-going work they are doing

Looks like not all drivers appreciate recumbent trikes.

Ah, Beepy McBeepface. I'm sure we've all met someone like that. Looks like that driver needs to get out more. Is that their normal reaction to something unusual on the road? A beep of puzzlement, then go past anyway. No need for that trike rider to stop. Perhaps he was trying to tell the trike rider that he needs mudguards, or something. I dunno. The other drivers didn't seem to have any problems.

jrs665 wrote: 12 May 2023, 10:10am Would like to get a trike, ICE trikes look good, but I have a concern about recumbent trikes being too wide to use cycle lane. Been told that they are no wider than a bikes handlebars or your shoulders, yet the specs for the ICE ADventure quotes overall width as 31.5-32.5 inches which is considerably wider than the 17 inches of my endurance bike.

Has anyone had trouble using a trike in cycle lanes?

UPDATE:

Ended up getting an ICE Sprint X Tour with rear suspension.

The trike has had no problems using any of the cycle lanes in Edinburgh that I have used.

I also find that have no trouble being seen and no issues on the road, drivers giving the trike plenty of space.

Compared to a bicycle , the trike makes one feel alot safer.

Thanks for adding the decision. And I'm glad that it's going well.

Lots of us have had that sensation of being more noticeable.

Excellent choice (happens to be the same as I have, Sprint X Tour with rear suspension). You'll have great fun riding it.

Just back from a couple of months touring (on Sprint X Tour), mainly France but also through Germany (EV15) and NL and ... weird in France as often people would toot/shout/wave but in a positive way often giving a thumbs-up. Riding along one canal path and a boat load of day trippers all started waving and clapping. One day happened twice, 2nd time leaving supermarket and a car passed and I got shouted "Hey, vélo couché" and a thumbs-up out of the window.
