Do you have home contents insurance?

If you do, look through the policy, because you may well find that you already have some cover (but double check, because it might be limited to certain circumstances).

You could join Cycling UK, providers of this forum, four quid a month unless you qualify for Concessionary Membership.
There's probably cheaper ways to get PL insurance, though the other benefits might tip the balance. As above you may already have it bundled in with another insurance or something else.

Basic public liability cover (including while cycling) is often included with Home (and sometimes Life) Insurance so check what provisions you have in place there.

Some cycle clubs provide basic insurance cover too as part of their membership.

And both British Cycling and Cycling UK provide insurance cover:

Note that membership of British Cycling or Cycling UK comes with further benefits too such as discounts at third party partners.

You could have a look at Wiggle. Third party insurance plus cover for your bike in an accident. I was paying around £2.50 a month.

We use Laka @ £1.50/month.

There are excesses and the usual caveat applies - we haven't yet claimed on it (nor wish to ....), so we haven't fully tested it.
