I only customize it

Taking the frame into consideration, not one single part on the bike was a part on the original bike, in fact there never was any original bike, I bought every part separately, mostly used and either XT or XTR. It would probably be tough to find a bike that has any two of the same parts as my bike. Maybe the headset and frame but beyond that I can't think of anything.

I added it all up once and it was under £1,500 altogether. There's no way you can buy a carbon MTB with XT/XTR stuff for anything like that cheap.

I guess I've changed a couple of things since.
Looks pretty light! Probably a bit extreme for some, but if you're happy ...

(and you definitely haven't put the forks on wrong).

This stands out as the first time I walked into a shop and just bought a complete bike. Even then, I strongly suspect that they had this very nice frame to clear, and put it together with some parts that they had in stock. It looks pretty unlikely that it's any kind of standard model. And I had some issues with the wheels, so built my own replacements on Ultegra hubs.

Actually It is the right way I just turned the lot 180 to get to the pinhead locks

I don't quite understand - where are the pinhead locks? And will the fork be flipped back 180° to ride again? Because at the moment the fork is backwards relative to the bars and the rest of the bike.
I just turned the steering round to unlock the pinhead locks that lock the wheel to the fork
If the handlebar stem has been firmly clamped to the steerer it does means that when you flip the forks back around, the stem is going to be facing towards the rider and not away from them.

....Matthias Absolon Shepperton, otherwise known as cycle tramp. You stand accused of the following mechanical perversions;
That you did willfully take one mountain bike, removed its gears and replaced with a single gear, fitted an oversize lamp to the stem together with cut down beach cruiser 'bars, and having painted it green presented the bicycle as army surplus WWII bicycle
That you did take one bicycle with dropped bars (with a 501 double butted frame set) refitted the bicycle with pull back bars, a basket, a horn and a rear wheel fitted with a 3 speed gear and coaster brake..
And that you did take one beach cruiser bicycle replace the single gear system with a 3 x 6 system and further fit a shimano roller brake to the front wheel..
That you did attempt to build a 26 inch wheeled touring bicycle using a nu-vinvi 360 hub....
How do you plead? Guilty or diminished responsibility?

Ever been tempted by one of these CT ? :)

Crust Clydesdale cargo fork conversion, turn that old mountain bike (or spare Thorn Raven Tour frame  !),
into a 1960's paper delivery trade bike. The fork would be about 10 times the cost of my Saracen shopping bike...must resist.

What are you talking about

I turned the bars/head/forks around for FIVE minutes whilst working on the bike !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Looking at the second picture, the stem, bars and levers appear to be aligned with the fork so that the wheel would be backwards. I'm going to assume you spun the forks relative to the stem to do some work on it and normally the bars line up with the fork the other way round, with the controls facing away from the rider and the disc on the left hand side of the wheel.

As for customisation. I have bought a couple off the peg bikes, but parts seem to migrate between my bikes as I try new things, especially my old Claud Butler hybrid that at different times has had cruiser, flat, butterfly and drop bars, with shifter and brake lever changes to match. It's also been a singlespeed when I was trying that out, had 1x, 2x and 3x front chainsets depending on what was lying around, and is now about to gain a child seat.

Also I like shiny silver components on my steel tourer so I've done a bit of replacing to make that happen. I even have a custom stem cap with "Are we there yet" printed on it on that bike :)

I like the fact that you can customise your bike so easily. It makes my bike feel more like it's mine, rather than just the factory spec. :)

So, in the picture, why is your front disc brake on the correct (left) side and his on the wrong (right) side?

Oh gee I might have. Haven't noticed anything for the last 70,000 km, though.

Everyone seems to be at odds here! I think what is confusing me is that if you just flipped the bars/fork around to work on the bike then both the bars and the fork/wheel would be back to front, so both would be the right way around when you flipped back again.
Whereas the bars are facing forward in the photo as normal while the fork is backwards, so you'd have to loosen the stem bolts, flip the fork/wheel, keeping the stem) bars facing forward and then re-tighten for everything to be correct again. From your exasperation at people's reactions though I'm guessing this is in actual fact what you have done!

Let's hope so - otherwise the bike has has its wheel base shortened which has raised the height of the head tube, and slacken the rake of the bike, leading to some interesting handling...
