JOGLEPOD written off.

Post by Paulatic »

a close pass by a driver on the A9 forced Mike off the road and the JOGLEPOD can't be repaired.
Towing his own accommodation on a JOGLE a bit bigger than Mick's trailer.

Mike's not giving in though and, thanks to The Bike Bothy in Forres saving the day with a swift supply and fit of some panniers to the road bike, he's back out on the road and on his way to Land's End.

Poor chap, and I'm glad he's ok.

Yes, his pod is/was a tad bigger than my trailer!

I imagine that the JOGLEPOD might have caught a lot of side draught from passing HGV’s and coaches. With the wheels at the back a lot of nose weight as well. Is nose weight a noticeable thing with a bike?

Each time I've used mine, the nose weight wasn't much at all, no matter how heavy the load.
Same with a car trailer.
You want some positive nose weight, but not zero or negative.

As for the JoglePod, it would depend on how the weight of his luggage was distributed. I'd go for all the weight above the trailer axle.

Mike needs one like this.

Spotted a few weeks ago on the Somerset levels. I think you would need the electric assist thats fitted. We passed going in opposite directions and he wasn't hanging around. :D
At the last count:- Peugeot 531 pro, Dawes Discovery Tandem, Dawes Kingpin X3, Raleigh 20 stowaway X2, 1965 Moulton deluxe, Falcon K2 MTB dropped bar tourer, Rudge Bi frame folder, Longstaff trike conversion on a Giant XTC 840 :D
