Red connector on older axa(basta) HR bottle dynamo

I bought a 2nd hand RH axa HR dynamo on a whim but am baffled by the red electrical connector (ie the version immediately before the current version I think):

1 Does it need a bit of force and a levering screw driver to remove?

2 when removed can I use the usual 2.8mm crimp connectors instead, as on current version?

3 Is it disposable or can I reuse it ( if the former are spares still available?)

Thanks
(I thought this had been answered beforebut a search fails to find anything)

Is this the manual/instruction information? https://www.manuals.co.uk/axa/hr-tracti ... manual?p=6

No that's the current iteration, but thanks anyway.

I used to have one many years ago with one of these.

I seem to remember it just needed prising out with a screwdriver, although I might have used silicone sealant to keep it in place.

Anyway the link suggests spares are available, if that's the part you're concerned with.
(Although Brexit now means you can't readily get one from that supplier, assuming you're in the UK)

Sorry, rather late to this party...
...I've got two of these so what I can advise is:
1) yes, it does. Lever it out carefully with a flat screw driver

2) no, you can't. However you can fit bullet electrical connectors in the holes in that the red plastic cover.. er.. covers. I know this because, I was slightly too forceful in levering out the red cover, and it became airborne... describing a graceful arc in the electric light of the shed before disappearing out of sight and seemly to another dimension.. once I had discovered my own Bermuda Triangle, I had to find another solution of keeping the wires in place

3) yes, you re-use it. You stick the bare wire through each hole, bend a bit of bit over when it pokes through and then when you've finished you push the red cover back into the body of the dynamo

Thanks, I'll remember that bullet connector trick :)

Hmm, the Bullet connectors from sjs are just to big and my attempts squashing them to size didn't work so I reused the red connector, which doesn,t like the 6A speaker wire I preferred, so I had to use thinner 2A stuff. However , I read elsewhere someone one squeezed in quarter inch automotive spade connectors: I suppose its easier to bend a flat spade to suit than a tubular bullet connector..

Ah, I got my bullet connectors from halfords- I wonder if they come in different sizes?

I got one but no more to fit by crushing it so I thought maybe just tolerance of something that shouldnt fit on theory?

for different wires, yes, but IIRC the 'bullet' itself is always the same size ~4mm.

There are also 5mm bullets. And a Japanese standard at 3.9mm (and possibly others in that family).
