It's a psychological thing, I don't need to see them to know they don't match.

You have already got a "matching pair" of cranks, all you need to do is separate the right crank from its chain wheel. ...an easy job for somebody used to operating a 4 1/2" grinder.
Thread lock might work on "wrong handed" crank and pedal; I had to do that in order to make up a set of tandem kiddie cranks when the kids were young, but I wouldn't risk it on a bike which got me to work just for the look of the thing

I ran one silver crank and one black one for ages...
They are functional levers, and it was part of the history and character of the (albeit very much cheaper) bike.

I never bothered with the thread lock, just did it up really tight instead!
I've done 20 miles and it 'aint fell off yet.

Fair play but I'd rather forget the part of the history of my bike that involved it, and me, skidding into the back of a Focus.

So I finally got around to ordering some new bits for the bike including new Bafang crank arms and some pedals, I've had no issues using the 'wrong handed crank' but figured what the hell...
