I wonder what proportion of fires are e-scooters rather than e-bikes. I get the impression they are being conflated.
The best available information on that is in the OPSS report:
"Fires in e-bikes and e-scooters – 2022 and 2023":

Thanks. So eBike conversion fires when on-charge are the most frequent type.

"8 October 2024
EBay will clamp down on the sale of e-bikes and e-bike batteries in the UK from 31 October, the BBC has learned.

The firm says that only "eligible business sellers" will be allowed to list them after this date.

It did not explain what the necessary criteria would be."

Forcing even legit ads on to other platforms will make buying more risky.

I can't find the wording from eBay UK... anyone?

It is not policy until the end of the month. However, if you look here it seems to suggest that it is already policy - search e-bikes https://www.ebay.co.uk/help/policies/pr ... cy?id=5271

Tragic. Says so much about the society we live in.
The 12 survivors involved in the legal action are among 20 men of Bangladeshi heritage who were living in the two-bedroomed flat at the time. They paid £100 cash a week to sleep in bug-infested bunk beds.
