Better posting guidance

Post by Halla »

Morning All.

This refers mainly to selling things on here, particularly bikes, but I am sure there could be better guidance for other types of post.

There have been many instances recently where bikes and bike bits have been advertised with incomplete information, resulting in questions and discussion but often no sale.

When bikes are advertised, should there not be better guidance on the detail of the machine for sale and the area of the country where it could be viewed (NOT THE ADDRESS as in one case recently).

I agree that it is possible to courier anything, but in the case of a bike, try before you buy is a better option.

I regularly look at bikes for sale and am mildly interested only to be frustrated by lack of detail.

There have been case where the question is asked about location and there is no reply or no indication if the bike was sold.

Any thoughts.

The guidelines offer advice on posting. Adding a location isn't mentioned but when selling an item too big to post it's common sense to mention this in the ad.

These guidelines need updating too as bank transfers (a safe way of paying) require the seller to forward their bank details for payment.
