Hi

I need to replace the FSA tempo 50/34 crankset on my winter bike. I can't get a like for like with 172.5 cranks so would be really grateful if someone could advise on an alternative that will fit? The bike has a square taper with shimano claris 8 speed cassette, rear and front dérailleurs.

Any help would be really appreciated

Stronglight Impact Double is cheap and cheerful and will fit on your square taper and is available in 172.5mm 50/34, but you might find you have to buy a new square taper bottom bracket with a different axle length to get the chainline right - it varies with different chainsets. I've been using one on my winter road bike (otherwise Campagnolo-equipped) for years. The polished silver look may not match the rest of your kit but hey, it's a winter bike...

FSA Vero compact is still available at various shops...

Good call by Keezx. If you can find it in stock in the right length, that's a decent option.
