That’s what I would do. Get a scrap frame from the dump/wherever, cut one or two bits of tube for patching. You will probably have to open out the tube a bit to fit over the existing frame tube. I use silver solder because it’s easier to get the work up to temperature for the spelter to flow.
There’s a thread in technical too good to lose about “ going to try brazing” or thereabouts.
E bay is a good source for small quantities of silver solder and flux….. look for “Johnson Matthey “ branded solder.

if you want 'cheap/easy/likely to work' then you would have to go a long way to beat epoxy resin. Drill small holes as 'crack stoppers' and then use epoxy resin to bond a reinforcement [eg steel or fibreglass] in place.

Need to get this done now and had another whacky idea. Get some of these https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B0B4WR3NCC/?th=1, wrap them around the effected area - not too tight - then blow torch (paint stripper type) and then regular electronics solder.
What do we think ?
Cheers,
Bruce.

.....and then take it straight down the dump?
1...lead solder isn't really strong enough
2...you need specific flux to (lead) solder stainless
3...those ties are too small to bridge the crack effectively
