What sort of 'phone?
On-road, off-road or both?
Do you want a record of where you've ridden, how fast etc?
Thanks

I am now a volunteer with Sustrans, being Autistic it is great for me as I don't like mixing with people but wanted to do something being a photographer.
I am NO good with maps, I need to (I should have said) follow and photograph the trails and submit images of them, Motorola Android

Check if the
https://cycle.travel app will run on your phone. There is an Android phone but you gave no more detailed info. I guess the Google Play Store (or whatever it's called) will identify if it' will run on your phone.
I's free and does everything you've raised.

If the app won't work on your phone you can just use

One aspect to note is that using web sites to design routes, downloading, using on the phone is "technical" in that it involves using buttons, selecting from lists, exploring functionality, etc. All these things (web sites, apps, etc.) are a balance between flexibility ('cos everybody wants something different) and simplicity. Not everybody wants to do exactly what you want in the same manner as you and they are not a bespoke solution for you.
Expect to spend time trying, failing, trying a different way, experimenting, playing around and it wont work exactly as you want 1st time (nor 2nd time, etc.)
I am very techy (after a long career developing software for control systems and I recently spent hours working out how to transfer my podcasts into Apple Podcasts, and then doing ot again as 1st attempt didn't result in what I was wanting (and Apple Podcasts is designed for and used by non-technical users).

If all on road, you could find the location of turns via street map then simply cut that image as a photo and then add a written note on it, giving you a direction to take
Or you could make a voice message for segments that you want to make a turn at.
So for instance a note about this photo - which is just after coming out of Pont-rhy-y-groes. would be something like 'Turn LEFT'
or you could have a voice file saying "turn left after the bridge" and in your own voice it's more familiar.
Just make sure you take a photo from streetview from your start point (or make a voice note) then once ou've done them, simply play each photo b flicking to the next one in the file, same with the voice note.
hope that helps.

I literally just thought of it after reading your post (So I'm glad you posted

) and thought how could that be simple without any internet or GPS connection.
I love planning routes in advance, and despite me having a decent GPS unit prefer to use my Ordnance Survey maps (And Carte Bleu for France) and transfer to paper with pictograms and simple directions.
Stick in pocket, have a look at next direction, and that's it. Just have to be accurate and clear in what our write down but it's never failed me even on a 125 mile ride
However I might actually use this method mself in future.
Good luck

Especially as my and most handlebar bags have a plastic see through map cover

Don't know why I bother spending my time posting helpful responses to just have them ignored (no "Thank you" or anything).

If you look at any of my posts, any, you will see somewhere, usually after a week I ALWAYS say
Thank you ALL, I also clearly state I have autism, I don't always "see" every post immediately.
It is never possible to immediately thank everyone, is it ? Only posted 2 days ago.
Note also how all MY posts also have PLEASE and or Thank you in them
SEE the main post
"ANY advice appreciated
Thank you"

What sort of 'phone?

Do you want a record of where you've ridden, how fast etc?
It would be very helpful to know about what you want.
