What a nice change.
ferrit worrier - why were you underground?
I'm a member of the Derbyshire caving club, we have access to the old copper mines at Alderley Edge, parts of which go back about 4,000 years. we are currently working on an excavation to remove spoil that has fallen down one of the old shafts (about 50ft) into a chamber. We're there most Sundays, its somthing different

Percussive maintainance, if it don't fit, hit it with the hammer.

That's interesting - not the thing for me though - although to be honest, I've never tried caving/potholing.

Hi John
It's a lot easier than caving, (although we do use caving equipment from time to time) access is either walk in, or as in our case at the moment via a long ladder. and it doesn't matter what the weather is like, we can get wet anyway,
and, we only need a front light
Cheers

Lovely here in Cornwall. Went out sunday for a couple of hours on Bodmin Moor - lovely. Stopped at the Hurlers Halt in Minions for a coffee and cake. They told me that there is a constant flow of LEJOGers coming through and stopping (It is at a high point)
Wanted to go out again today but had to work - the joy of being self employed!

Yesterday was dry - would you believe it, dry? "My bike and I" had a wonderful day out - riding from 07.30hrs to 23.30hrs - it was warm and dry, dull, muggy and no sun, but dry.
Today is back to 2008. The sparrows that vistit our garden have now all bought umbrellas.
(Just a not to all those who take everything I type as being po-faced serious - the umbrella bit is a joke - not true - intended to make you laugh).

You mean they stole them instead?
I make stuff, that's all.

Well, I don't like to ask.
That's not as improbable as it sounds - after all, they don't pay for their wild bird seed, bread crusts, rice pudding left-overs etc, so maybe, just maybe, they have a free source of umbrellas. They fly off as soon as I try to ask them, so that could indicate a guilty conscience.
