Given the current season and state of the roads my velomobile wheels and wheel wells are getting very cruddy.
Up until now I have either ignored it or resorted to turning it on it side and trying to do my best with as little water as I can.
The question is, does anyone have any advice.
Is jet washing safe.
Is it better to use a low pressure system like the big spray bottles used for insecticides.
Is it better just to use a hose or bucket and brush.
It is a Quatrovelo and the wheels are enclosed.
The front wheels are not bad but the rear ones appear to collect all the crud.
Thanks
Mark
CLEANING VELOMOBILE
Re: CLEANING VELOMOBILE
If you have to use a cleaner choose one with a little environmental impact as possible, and use as little as possible.
Treat yourself to any hand-operated brushes etc that help you get into difficult areas.
Keep the pressure washer well away from bearings and the like.

There's obviously a big incentive to keep the drag down, but is there any opportunity for some carefully placed flaps?mark aldridge wrote: ↑17 Dec 2023, 9:50am ...

Re: CLEANING VELOMOBILE
I wondered how you got at the enclosed wheels. Are you happy to put it on its side, does that provide enough access, and would a ramp or stands make it easier?mark aldridge wrote: ↑17 Dec 2023, 9:50am ...

Re: CLEANING VELOMOBILE
From http://www.velomobiel.nl/handleidingen/ ... nmaken.pdf
direct online translation:
"Use the putty knife to scrape off the sand
to scratch.
You do not have to remove the front wheels.
A wide rear tire can get in the way.
Try it without air in the tyre.
Enjoy your light bike "
If access is awkward, as it looks to be without dismantling, I'd be inclined to go out on a wet day then brush off the softened crud on return.
