Not been feeling well these last couple of days, off my food, aches and pains, tired and lethargic.
Today, has been the worst, but feeling a tad better now I know I have Covid!

Tested this evening.

I never thought I would get it again as I'm fully vaccinated .................. but I have.
Dunno where from, or who from.

Mrs Mick F is negative ......... like last time.

Here's my positive tests from August 2021.

Vaccination doesn't prevent infection, but does mitigate the effects.

The immunity wears off over time, and also waves of infection are driven by new, immune resistant variants of the virus.

Oh no. My sympathy to you. I've never had it and I have to be careful as Mrs RJB is still undergoing treatment and is on the vulnerable list. You must have caught the Cornish pixie variety. Stay tucked up and warm and I hope you recover quickly so you can get out on the bike.

I caught Covid for the very first time the end of November. I had taken my car for a mot and the guy at reception was doing a lot of sneezing.
I had refused the vaccine a couple of weeks earlier because of progressively worse reactions to each one I’d had. My experience I recovered quicker from catching it over the vaccine. Ran a temperature for 2 days, sore throat and cough for a week and I was up and running FulGaz again.
Mrs P, who took the vaccine, caught it from me and sat around full of mucous and sore throat for 3 weeks. She feels cheated.
Lesson learnt I was beginning to think I’d never catch it with my lifestyle. I was wrong :(

Good morning guys. 3am.

I went to bed shortly after my last post, got up for calls of nature, but snuggled down and slept fitfully.
Mrs Mick F came to bed around midnight, and I got up shortly after 1am. Made myself a pot of tea .............Assam fine leaf ....... and just finished to the two cups. TBH, I couldn't taste the tea at all, and it felt like drinking hot water.

I don't feel well at all. Probably the "illest" I've ever felt.
Headache, but not throbbing. Aching and stiff all over. Not eaten since breakfast, and I'm not hungry in the slightest.

Ain't got a clue where I got this from. Difficult to pin it down where and when.
We went out tenpin bowling up at Bude on Saturday, with grandson and our daughter, and her chap plus his daughter. We all went to Rosies Cafe near the beach and had cakes and coffee.
Maybe I wasn't feeling too good before we went. Dunno.
I can't remember feeling ill on Friday though I could have been incubating this for a week.

On the way home from Bude, we called in at Lidl's in Launceston, then a short visit to the Queen's Head. Only in there an hour, and it was quiet with the landlord and only one customer.

Other than that, I've not been out other than a dog walk.

Any road up, going off back to bed shortly. Night-night.

Get well soon Mick -- felt a bit odd last night -- sniffley and slight sore throat ..... still same this morning so it's Echinacea and paracetamol for me -- will test if it persists -- not sure yet.

Thank guys.

Just been given a couple of rounds of toast and marmalade. Sitting up in bed!
Lecky blanket on keeping me warm.
Feeling a tad better now. Perhaps "less poorly".

MacBook is keeping me entertained.

Nor their fault but in supermarkets etc marked increase in the number of people coughing. One advantage with cycling over buses and trains
less exposure.

I'm somewhat unusual, but not alone, in still using a mask in the supermarket. I think I'll persist for at least a while yet.

Glad to hear things seem to be on the mend.
I've only managed one bout of it so far, just over a year ago, and at the time I never felt that bad after one day of being tired and headachy, but was testing positive for 9 days. So it can linger even while the symptoms subside, but once you're on the mend usually the case that you'll be over it relatively soon.

Pete.

I was under the impression that masks only reduce the spreading of the virus by an infected wearer. It doesn't confer much protection to a healthy individual. Wish I could be proved incorrect.
