We live in a society where such natural justice gets folk into a lot of hot water … shame on our police services and courts really but that’s the way it is.

I hope that the culprit gets / got caught and given a custodial sentence.

Don’t fret, it’s OK to: ride a simple old bike; ride slowly, walk, rest and admire the view; ride off-road; ride in your raincoat; ride by yourself; ride in the dark; and ride one hundred yards or one hundred miles. Your bike and your choices to suit you.

Given that the article is over 4 years old, it seems unlikely they'll be caught now. Unless they already were caught?

What is the BBC's motive in reviving this old report?

Is that what happened? Or is it the article from 2019 newly cited here?

It's currently at #3 on the "Most watched" list of clips on the BBC www (behind a bereaved swan looking at its own reflection and an item about the BAFTAS)
=================================
PS
Perhaps the OP can tell us where they picked it up. Was it already "most watched" or have we driven it up there?

Have you got a URL for that, please?

A few moments ago on the BBC news home page it was there. The URL for that page - as opposed to this item - doesn't look to have a link to it

https://www.bbc.co.uk/news

PS I've just checked and with that link you have to scroll down - as I thought

Earlier today that video was #3 on the list, and a video about a group of cyclists being fined for jumping a red light was #2. Something odd going on there. Maybe something is happening somewhere on social media? Or perhaps the Daily Mail is trying to drum up anti cyclist feelings (again!).

Didn't realize it was such an old story.

Saw it on the BBC News homepage and reckoned on it being fairly new, like an incident from the summer of this year but where the culprit has not been caught.

Sounds as if it was some other people. Or bot(s).

I think a better topic title would be

Minor Argument between two people on London Street turns violent. in 2019.

(Could the Mods please change? ;-) )

Botskys being used to drive divisive material to the top, thereby promoting discord, as a means of destabilising the country.

I wouldn’t be at all surprised to discover that “our” bots are right this moment beavering away doing something similar in the opposite direction.

Many of the webages on the BBC News website containing a short video item will list several previous video articles on the same subject. One of these will start playing automatically after the main video has finished. Consequently a new video about a particular subject will often result in an old video on the same subject being seen by a very large number of people, and a link then appearing to it on the main BBC News webpages in the list of 'most watched' videos. For example, https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/av/uk-england-essex-67268311.
