Sprockets for Brompton wide-range hub BWR

Post by Philip Benstead »

Sprockets for Brompton wide-range hub BWR

I am seeking Sprockets for Brompton wide-range hub.

They must be flat and have 18/19/20 or 21 teeth and nine tabs.

Remember they need to be 3/32 and work on an 8-speed chain.

Question

Which Shimano cassette sprocket would be suitable, or another make?

Can you suggest a supplier?

You should be able to Google them. the shimano tech website shows what sprockets on.

https://bike.shimano.com/en-EU/product/ ... G50-8.html

(You'll have to remove the 3 pins holding the bigger sprockets together on Shimano cassettes like this)

I assume you drill the heads of the pins to release the sprockets?

You can buy individual HG-pattern sprockets made by Shimano or others, e.g. ZTTO. I have a Dura-Ace and a ZTTO on my 2-speed Brompton.

miche also do individual HG type sprockets, but these may be 11/128" (for 9s,10s,11s,12s etc.) rather than 3/32". FWIW you can easily grind a standard SA part to do this job.(the BWR driver is steel, so three lugs that are not quite the right shape will still work OK.)

Oh no, they look like something else entirely.
