A possibly bizarre question but does anyone know of any entry level guides to bikes and components in Spanish? Essentially looking at Ladybird book level ie images and linked words. Yes I can translate via physical or online dictionaries but have the usual issues re mistranslated or misplaced words ie Lost In Translation. The aim is to be able to identify/talk in a bike shop or with a mechanic if I should ride locally in Spain: ie. Not sound a British numpty.

This is on Amazon, but you might do best to try in a bookshop in Spain. If you try any Spanish, however clumsy, you won’t be thought a numpty. I went looking for a bb once and ended up saying “the thing where the pedals are” and pointing. Everyone was happy with the outcome 😀.

Great suggestion re shopping in Spain. I could also ask the in-laws to look as some live there. In the meantime, I had suggested on another cycle chat feed, the following site which suggested 100 cycle related words:-
