Available now a Road or gravel bike in the £2000 region
With a good resale value. I had a car accident and worried that a recurring injury may be aggravated by my wish to pursue cycling again. If it is aggravated I will want to sell minimising my losses on outlay.
Brand and model pointers please

If you want to sell a bike ,it needs to go into the for sale section although the advert isn,t clear.Frame size, model, age, how much use etc .Datails are crucial in selling a bike .

I read it as wanting pointers on which road/gravel bike to buy for about £2000 that'll have a good resale value if the OP decides it's not for him/her...?

If this is the explanation,I would strongly suggest a used or new gravel.2000 is a large chunk of money on a bike that may not work for you.Decathlon do some nice bikes under a grand.

Moneys not an issue. I was quite the enthusiast.
I've just lost touch of the scene. It's the popular brands and models I'd like to no more about. I've been away from it all for a few years now.

Difficult question to answer because there are dozens of brands out there from mainstream to niche.
The big three are undoubtedly Giant, Specialized and Trek.
There's a couple of mostly online retailers like Ribble and Canyon to consider.
And big retailers like Halfords and Decathlon have Boardman and Van Rysel respectively.
You're not really going to get a "bad" bike at that price. The question is whether you get a good one *for you*.

I value this reply.
I'm just thinking if I was to put a near brand new bike up for sale with say £100 - £200 knocked off which brand or model would the market bite your fingers off to buy.
I'm 5,10" so for frame size it may cover a larger market.

Welcome
I'd want a lot more than 10% off for buying a used bike from a private seller rather than a new one from a dealer.

Can I ask what the nature of your ongoing physical problem is that may affect your choice ?

What about brand new in a box from a private seller

It doesn't work like that.
Given a choice between a brand new bike (with the usual warranty, free first service, customer support etc) at £2000 or something you've bought, decided isn't for you and are looking to sell at £1800, everyone will go for the £2000 from a shop option.
The general rule is you'll have to knock at least 30% and probably closer to 50% off, even if the bike is only a few weeks old.

Many buyers would regard that as (potentially) quite dodgy...
High chance of it being nicked etc. And again, the buyer is not getting a warranty...
