that's a handy site for getting the brake pads, thanks for that. I think I'll just try a small front bag with the existing levers. Cutting noodles isn't what I want to do and there seems to be space between the bars and the cables for a not too deep or wide bag.

I used to fit a Carradice bar bag behind cables out of 2303 levers. I left the gear cables longer than normal to give a bit more space.

If you do need the room get the 'stainless steel flexible v brake noodles' - you don't need to cut them. Lots available just Google the term in quotes from the previous sentence.
